Hi, I’m Athina Bakaraki,
I didn't start out knowing exactly what I wanted to do.
What I did know was that I wanted to help people in a meaningful way.
I've always been the kind of person who asks why things work the way they do. From an early age, I found myself deeply drawn to people and to the questions that shape us: how we connect, how our relationships influence us, how we struggle, and how growth becomes possible.
The Beginning
When I began studying Early Childhood Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, I thought I was preparing for a traditional path in education. What I discovered was something deeper: an understanding of how profoundly our first relationships shape who we become. A pivotal chapter of those years was my Erasmus+ exchange at the Université Lille III, where I studied educational sciences and broadened my perspective on how people learn and evolve through connection.
Yet over time, I felt a growing need to move closer to the root of human experience to understand more deeply what shapes us, what stays with us, and what makes change possible.
The Path
That search led me to psychology. I pursued a BSc in Psychology at the University of Strasbourg, graduating in 2021 with a thesis on "The Impact of Sibling Relationships on the Romantic Relationships of Young Adults." There, I began to see the threads connecting our earliest bonds to our present-day patterns how the systems we're part of shape the stories we live.
This journey continues today as I complete my Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic and Family Therapy at the Laboratory for the Exploration of Human Relations. This training has become the lens through which I understand people: not in isolation, but within the wider contexts of their lives.
Finding My Footing
My clinical experience has spanned diverse settings, each deepening my practice in different ways. At the Psychiatric Clinic of the General Hospital of Nikaia, I worked in psychoeducation and diagnostic assessment. I also worked at DI.KE.PSY, a Child and Adult Support Centre, where I provided psychological assessment and individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.Through the online platform Mila mou, I provided psychological first aid to individuals in crisis. My time at Rainbow School Paris, a Montessori school, gave me the privilege of witnessing how profoundly early relational experiences shape who we become.
Each of these experiences reinforced what I had come to believe: that we cannot separate a person's difficulties from the systems they live within.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside my clinical work, I had the opportunity to participate in TEDxKlonatzidika, where I designed and facilitated the experiential workshop "Feeding the Mind: A Vision Board Workshop" an exploration of mental resilience and self-awareness through visualisation and creative practice.
My Approach
The decision to start therapy represents a shift from isolation to connection, from avoidance to engagement. It's a statement that your wellbeing matters enough to invest time, energy, and resources into understanding yourself more deeply.

Within this process, we gently bring attention to recurring patterns, unspoken needs, and the ways past experiences may continue to shape the present.
Together, we create a safe, collaborative, and thoughtful space in which your inner experience, relationships, and personal history can be explored with care, clarity, and compassion.
Therapy is not only about finding relief from emotional difficulties, but also about opening the possibility for new meaning, deeper connection, and personal growth.
Where I Am Now
My approach is systemic at its core. I don't see difficulties as living inside a person in isolation I see them as emerging within webs of relationship, history, and context.
In our work together, we explore not just what is happening, but how and with whom. We look at the patterns that have formed around you, and the new ones that are possible. My goal is to offer a space that is genuinely safe: one where you can be honest, curious, and in time, more fully yourself.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I offer individual psychotherapy, family sessions, and parental guidance always with this systemic perspective at the centre.
“Psychotherapy is the journey from the loneliness of denial to the freedom of acceptance.
Systemic thinking
I see you within the context of your relationships, family history, and social environment, not in isolation.
